Tajkira Begum who started learning kantha embroidery from her mother and grandmother since she was 9 has stood out through her exquisite kantha work and has evolved as a confident entrepreneur. Being involved with this craft for the past 2 decades, not only she travelled all around India but also across India like Lithuania, Paris, Japan, China, France, Germany and Sweden. Presently there are more than 200 women working under her.

Lovely Bibi started learning this form of embroidery from her mother and grandmother from the age of 10. She is an expert in making traditional kantha. She participated in different exhibitions all over India. She also travelled to Europe to showcase her beautiful kantha products.

Sunehera Khatun is a resident of Nanoor village of Nanoor block; Birbhum weaving Kantha for over 10 years. She is skilled in making intricate designs over various items. She has participated in fairs around Kolkata, Delhi and other districts of West Bengal. She has received Kamala Devi Award and also received certificate from Gurusadaya Museum. Along with her own works and participating in fairs, Anjila has been a trainer for many workshops.

Majeda Khatun is a resident of Gobdihi village of Nanoor block; Birbhum weaving Kantha for 10 years. Majeda is skilled in making intricate geometric designs over various items. Along with her own works, Ajiya has trained other artists in many workshops. Majeda has visited in Goa and Kolkata fairs.

She is skilled in various Kantha stitches like – Run, Hem, fly stitch, cross, katihari and other knots. Fulbanu sekh has participated in fairs around Asansol and Bardhaman.
