He has learnt Raibenshe from his father Nilay Pandit and his uncle Haru Pandit. Alay specializes in gymnastics and has performed in Kolkata, Goa, Darjeeling and Raiganj. Apart from pursuing the art form, he is agricultural labour. His son is also associated with this art form.
