Monimala Chitrakar is a resident of Pingla village in Paschim Medinipur. He is being practicing the art for over 30 years. She learnt the art of painting from the legendary Patachitra artists Dukhushyam Chitrakar. Monimala is mostly interested in painting both Bengal and Santhal Patas. She has presented a Pata on Ramayana in Bhopal. Monimala being one of the most skillful and renowned Patachitra artist has visited many parts of the country and also overseas like – Auckland, London, America, Thailand, Holand, Lithuania, Hungary and many more. Monimala Chitrakar has received award from Rabindra Bharati University in 2001.

Mohiuddin Chitrakar is a resident of Pingla village in Paschim Medinipur. He is being practicing the art for over 17 years. He learnt the art of painting from the legendary Patachitra artists Dukhushyam Chitrakar. Mohiuddin is mostly interested in painting home decor.

Mamoni Chitrakar

Mamoni Chitrakar, daughter of Swarna Chitrakar has been painting Patas and singing the songs related to the form since childhood. She has been trained at home by her mother and specializes in paintings on Manasha Mangal and Chandi Mangal. Influenced by seniors, Mamoni has also painted on issues like HIV, 9/11 and Tsunami. She has showcased her art at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and also at Italy and Bahrain. She participated in a cultural exchange program with Smithsonian Centre for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, visited Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2018 in Washington, D.C. and performed at cultural institutions like Freer|Sackler gallery.

Rupsona Chitrakar

Rupsona Chitrakar, 22 years old, is a patachitra artist of Pingla. Rupsona is an expert in painting on tribal themes. She started painting at the age of six and learnt from her father Bahadur Chitrakar and grandmother Baharjan Chitrakar. She paints on religious themes and works on apparels as well. She has participated in exhibitions and fairs in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore and Pune.

Sonali Chitrakar has been painting since childhood. She has learnt under the guidance of her mother Swarna Chitrakar a renowned Patachitra artist of Naya, Pingla. She paints square/ rectangular (Chouka) Pat, Scroll (Jorano) Pat and draws on traditional themes like stories from the two Epics as well as on contemporary issues like Kanyashree Scheme of Government of West Bengal, gender discrimination, Nirbhaya rape case of 2012, 9/11 and 2004 Tsunami. She paints traditional Patachitra as well as Pat based motifs on diversified items like saree, umbrella, kettle etc. She has travelled in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and Bangalore.

Manoranjan aka Manu Chitrakar, 44, has been painting since the age of 15. He loves to depict social issues in his works. Manu has travelled all across India and to Sweden and Paris as well.

Noordin (Khokon) Chitrakar

Noordin (Khokon) Chitrakar is a resident of Chandipur village in Purba Medinipur district. He has been practising this art for the last 27 years. Noordin has learnt Patachitra from his parents, Noor Jahan and Golap Chitrakar. He has participated in fairs in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow and in a fair in London in 2015. Noordin has won both the District and State Level award.

Subho is a resident of Chandipur village in Purba Medinipur district. This 46 years old is engaged in this craft for the last 30 years. Apart from Patachitra he is applying his artistic skill on t-shirts and sarees. Subho has participated in fairs Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai. He is a State Award recipient. Subho has also won the Lalit Kala Academy Award (Delhi) in 2003.
