Sangita Sarkar is a resident of Shahbhita village of Itahar block, Uttar Dinajpur. She has been practising dhokra craft for the last 25 years and has imbibed the art of weaving skill from her parents. She makes traditional carpets as well as bags, table mats, coasters, runners and other decorative items. She is also equipped in developing finer thread, stitching and dyeing them. Sangita has participated in fairs in Kolkata, Siliguri, Asansol, Malda and Raiganj. She has worked as a master trainer in many workshops.
