Manoranjan Mondal is a resident of Sarkarpara in Malda district and has been working as a bamboo craftsman since 2007. He has learnt the craft from his wife Durga Mondal who has been in this craft for long. He makes tradtional items like winnows, baskets and decorative items like flower vase, pen stands, lampshades etc. He has participated in fairs in Goa, Kerala, Chandigarh, Delhi, Siliguri and Asansol. Manoranjan has also participated in the international fair at Lithuania in 2017.

Jatil , a veteran artist from Majlishbag village of Malda district, is working since childhood. He has learnt from his father which is inherent in his family. He makes traditional bamboo items like winnow, baskets and decorative items like flower vase, pen-stand, jewellery box and table lamp. He has showcased his talent in Siliguri, Kolkata, Santiniketan, Durgapur, Bardhaman, Kerala and Goa. He has won an award from DIC.

Anjali Mahali

Anjali Mahali is a resident of Gazol in Malda district. She has been practising basketry for the last 20 years. She has learnt the craft traditionally from her father Puran Mahali. Anjali is specialised in making home décor items ranging from baskets, boxes, lampshades and other show pieces. She has participated in fair and exhibitions around – Kolkata, Siliguri, Medinipur and Berhampore. Anjali Mahali has received Malda district award in 2005.

Sujata Mondol is a resident of Gazol in Malda district. She has been practising basketry for the last 20 years. She has learnt the craft from her mother In-law Prova Mondol. Sujata is specialised in making home décor items ranging from baskets, pen stand, lampshades, and other show pieces. She has participated in fair and exhibitions around – Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Asansol and Haldia.
