Shanti Baishya began working in basketry at the age of 12, after her marriage. She has learnt the craft from Late Gopal Baishya. She makes traditional items like baskets and decorative items like flower vases, pen stands, flower baskets, hair clips, lamp shades and jewellery boxes. Shanti has participated in fairs in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. She has won the District Award thrice.

Baishya showcased her products in fairs in Kolkata, Siliguri, Asansol, Durgapur,Purulia, Ranchi and Dumka.

Gostho Baishya a Mukha(masks) artist has been making Mukha (masks) since his third grade. He has learnt the craft from Late Gopal Baishya. He makes wooden as well as bamboo masks. Gostho carves on whole bamboo pieces and makes products out of dried bamboo roots. Baishya has participated in fairs in Delhi, Jaipur, Coochbehar, Kolkata and Siliguri. He has won the State Award twice in 2013-14, 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Gautam Baishya is a new generation bamboo craftsperson who has mastered the craft. He learnt the craft from his father, Late Gopal Baishya. Gautam now trains crafts persons under DIC programmes held across North Bengal. He carves whole bamboo poles, makes furniture of bamboo, designs Durga Puja pandals and works in the interior decoration sector. He has won the District Award in 2004-05, 2008-09 and 2013-14. He has participated in fairs all across West Bengal.
