Hiralal Mahato, an experienced Sabai artist from Raisol village in the district of Jhargram. He has been practicing the artform for over 35 years and has been a major name in the artform and has also received great recognition. Hiralal’s one of the best works of art till date is a Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata which has been designed with Sabai grass. On a daily basis he is great at making fruit baskets, trays, coasters and various wall hangings. Hiralal has participated in various fairs and exhibitions in and around Kolkata.

Rakhhori Tontubay is a 56 years old Sabai artist residing at Rajgram, Purulia, who learned the art of making Sabai products from the age of 6 years. Her first Guru was her Father, who taught her to make Sabai rope. Today, she is making multiple contemporary products.
