The traditional folk instruments are Madal, Dhamsa, Dhol, Nagada, Dotara, Ektara, Dubki, Anandalahari, Dhol, Dugi, Khol etc.
Mostly there is no change in contemporary instruments. Only some of the instruments such as Nal, Dugi, Tabla, Singha Dhamsa are made in Purulia in recent times. Nowadays, in Bardhaman, the instruments makers are making demo models of the instruments for showcasing.
