Dariyapur Dokra Festival was held at Dariyapur, Purba Bardhaman from 15th to 16th April to celebrate the traditional Dokra craft of West Bengal. The festival gained immense footfalls. The festival was inaugurated by Mr. Avedananda Thandar, MLA, Gushkara, Mr. Kushal Mukherjee, Municipality Chairman, Gushkara and leading Dokra artists of Dariyapur. During the Festival Tribal dance, Baul songs, Raibenshe, Jhumur songs and Chau dance were presented.
Bikna Dokra Mela was held on 7th, 8th and 9th of April, 2023, from 11 am to 7 pm at Bikna, in Bankura District, to promote the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Dokra craft. The festival was inaugurated by Ms. K. Radhika Aiyar, IAS, DM, Ms. Priyadarshini S, IAS, ADM - LR, Mr. Chandan Sen, GM -DIC, Mr. Paresh Mukherjee, DO khadi, Mr. S Bhakta, SDO, Bankura. During the festival, cultural performances such as Jhumur songs and dance, local Puppetry, Raibenshe, Baul songs, Chau Dance and Chadar Badar took place.
