Process
Step 1 : Figures are drawn on the blocks of wood
Step 2: The drawing is then chiselled out
Step 3: Carved surface is cleaned and smoothened
Step 4: A paste with Khari mati (soil), flour, water and adhesive is made to cover the surface and left to dry. Khari mati gives a smooth finish to the dolls.
Step 5: Colours are applied on the product
Step 6: Motifs with specific designs are marked out by fine brush stokes.
Step 7 : Facial features are added at the end
Step 9: Finished product
